A bachelor’s life is erratic where there is no proper schedule, lot of traveling and staying out for long periods of time. Understandably a dog that is self-sufficient, requires minimum maintenance and is a lot of fun to hang out with would make for the perfect dog for a bachelor. After a lot of research, we have decided that it is a Siberian Husky that would be a bachelor’s best playmate!
They adapt easily
This could be particularly important trait if you are on the constant move. A Siberian Husky has no problem at adapting to new surroundings and will make itself at home quite easily as long as he is comfortable and has you by his side!
They are affectionate dogs
These cute canines are happy, affectionate dogs. They love to cuddle and spend time with their human counterparts. A pat on the head or a quick kiss is enough to keep a Siberian Husky happy for the entire day!
They are extremely intelligent
The Siberian Husky is an intelligent breed. They are great at picking up information and always heed to their potty training rules. They follow commands and if trained properly, they’ll never chew on your furniture or pee on your houseplants. Their intelligence makes these dogs reliable enough to leave them at home alone.
They are friendly towards strangers
As a bachelor, you might have your friends and colleagues coming over to your place quite often. Under such conditions, loud dogs can be quite difficult to manage but with a Siberian Husky, aggressiveness and incessant barking will never be a cause of worry. They easily bond with strangers and are affectionate towards therefore they do not make for efficient watchdogs.
They love the outdoors
A Siberian Husky is an overly active dog. They like to keep busy at all times otherwise they get bored. Regular exercise is advised to prevent the dog from becoming lethargic and fat. If you have been postponing your runs and walks, your puppy will be reason enough to finally put on your running shoes and get some fresh air!
They fit into small spaces
Unlike other big dogs, a Siberian Husky neither needs a big area to live nor is it territorial. Your puppy will be comfortable as long as it has a soft, warm bed and receives its meal at regular intervals. They are not fussy about their living space and will rest in whichever corner of the house they think is most comfortable. This trait is great for a bachelor who usually lives in small apartments where they’d have a problem in making space for a dog.
They are generally healthy dogs
A Siberian Husky is a generally healthy puppy. Despite that, always get details of its genetic history before adopting a pup. Take them to the vet regularly and provide them with enough exercise and healthy diet so that it lives a long, happy life. A Siberian Husky has a life span of about twelve years.
They are easy to groom
We understand that as a bachelor you won’t be keen on a dog that needs excessive grooming. Being a furry specie, a Siberian Husky tends to shed a lot, especially during spring and summer. It is advisable that you brush his coat regularly to minimise shedding. A bath is almost never necessary. The Siberian Husky is a very clean dog with little to no odor. Brushing teeth with a vet advised toothpaste is recommended to prevent foul breath and decaying of teeth. Other than these basic things, a Siberian Husky is probably the easiest dog to look after!
